Etsy stacks three separate fees on every sale: a flat $0.20 listing fee (per listing, every 4 months or on each sale), a 6.5% transaction fee on the total (item + shipping), and payment processing (typically 3% + $0.25 in the US). All three add up faster than sellers often expect.

Worked Example

Example: $35 item + $5 shipping. Transaction fee = $40 × 6.5% = $2.60. Payment processing = $40 × 3% + $0.25 = $1.45. Listing fee = $0.20. Total fees = $4.25, about 10.6% of the sale.
